Michael is a Strategic Advisor with RTI Health Advance.
As a Senior Advisor with RTI Health Advance, Michael brings experience as Executive Vice President of Quality Measurement and Research at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) where he was responsible for performance measurement (HEDIS®), research and analysis, management of contracts and grants, and NCQA’s digital measures strategy.
For over 30 years, Michael has led teams in pursuit of better healthcare quality through programs, policies, services, and strategies designed to deliver equitable, accessible, evidence-based, person-centered care. He was previously Senior Vice President, Medical Practice at the American College of Physicians, Chief Medical Officer of Baltimore Medical System, Inc., Assistant Professor of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and an active-duty physician in the U.S. Air Force.
Michael is a board-certified internal medicine physician licensed in MD, DC, and VA. He holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from New York University School of Medicine, a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Biology from the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Michael is a Master of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London.
