Stephen Perkins is a Strategic Advisor for RTI Health Advance.
Stephen E. Perkins has over 40 years of experience in healthcare as a clinician, executive and consultant. He was most recently with UPMC Health Plan where he served as Chief Medical Officer, Commercial and Medicare Services. Stephen provided clinical leadership for all Commercial and Medicare Services, Medical Management, and Provider Network Development activities for the health plan while overseeing its community health initiatives.
Prior to that, Stephen served as Vice President of Medical Affairs and Senior Medical Director for UPMC Health Plan. In an earlier role, he served as Senior Medical Director for UPMC WorkPartners’ suite of workers' compensation, employee assistance, health promotion, and health management products.
Stephen served for 12 years as Corporate Medical Director for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Vermont. In addition, he was a consultant with Care Advantage in Iselin New Jersey, providing medical management strategies, payment reform strategy and large employer group healthcare cost control mitigation.
Stephen received a BA in Biology and a MD from West Virginia University and is board certified in Family Medicine.
