State Innovation Models (SIM) Initiative Evaluation
State Innovation Models (SIM) look to determine which health care transformation strategies and activities are most effective in improving population health.
Seventeen states are in the process of implementing innovative models such as coordination of care across providers, health information technologies, integration of primary and behavioral health care, and managing population health. For example, states are changing payment models used by Medicaid and aligning them with Medicare and commercial payers.
RTI helps these states to determine which investments are most effective in helping providers transition to value-based payment models by examining large datasets and comparing statewide trends to other states.
