Candace Howze

Candace Howze is a Marketing Specialist for RTI Health Advance.

With a background in education, journalism and multimedia, Candace's career has centered on helping start-ups and new departments build fresh initiatives. She enjoys the challenge of creating the impossible and building from ambiguous starting points.

Prior to joining RTI Health Advance, she served as a College Access Advisor for the Ron Brown Scholar Program where she worked directly with minority student populations and collaborated with educational non-profits and institutions of higher education to achieve equity in college admissions.

As a freelance journalist and creative writer, Candace's work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Huffington Post, U.S. News & World Report, Front, MTV News, Killens Review, Glass: A Journal of Poetry, CRWN magazine, and elsewhere. Candace has also received honors and support from the Full Frame Documentary Festival, Durham Arts Council, Frost Place, Hurston Wright Foundation, Migrant Roots Media, North Carolina Asian Americans Together and Amplified Voices. 

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
