Practice Transformation Toolkit
Provider practice transformation to successfully implement electronic health record technology
Provider practices are faced with mounting challenges when it comes to implementing and utilizing electronic health records (EHRs). RTI developed the Practice Transformation Toolkit to help provider practices successfully implement EHR technology by minimizing challenges and maximizing benefits.
The Practice Transformation Toolkit is a comprehensive set of tools and resources that providers can use to implement a new or an upgraded EHR to transform and improve their practices in the areas of operations, clinical quality, finances, and staff and patient satisfaction. The Toolkit was built upon best practice methodologies for EHR implementations and evaluation and helps practices avoid making common mistakes, such as purchasing EHR products and services that do not meet the practice’s priorities and needs, or creating unrealistic timelines and expectations related to the EHR implementation.
The Toolkit is organized into the four phases critical to EHR adoption, implementation, and practice transformation:
- Assessment
- Planning
- Implementation
- Evaluation and Clinical Quality Improvement.
As a result of developing and deploying the Toolkit for our clients, RTI has increased transparency of best practices and comparisons that contribute to successful EHR implementations.
